Kapadokya

Kapadokya is like a magical paradise. Every traveller’s dream to experience a hot-air balloon ride overlooking the most incredible views the world has to offer.

The group and I woke up early around 4:15am to catch the sunrise and hot air balloons rising to the sky. I had never seen so many hot air balloons in one place ever. There were approximately 150-200 balloons taking off. Watching them develop was amazing, intense, and mesmerizing.

Our local taxi driver drove us to Love Valley, the lookout site overlooking the rise of the balloons and sunrise, where I took some iconic photos.

Later in the morning, I went on a 6km hike with Isik and seven members of our group. We hiked across Miscander Valley, Red Valley and Love Valley respectively. Narrow passageways, steep hills, breathtaking views, and on edge photography moments, it was a walk to remember.

Afternoon began and we visited Mustafapasa village, a town once inherited and shared between Turks and Greeks with churches everywhere.

The highlight of the day came later when I decided to experience a traditional Turkish Hammam Bath. Being scrubbed in the men’s room with soap, and having water poured on me, it felt like a torture chamber. Naw just kidding lol!!!! It was an amazing experience and I felt relaxed and stress free afterwards.

Finally, this morning I got to experience the iconic hot air balloon over the land of Kapadokya. All I can say is WOW!!!!! The views from the sky of Kapadokya are on a whole other level. I took some amazing photos with my selfie stick. It was calm, breathtaking, and relaxing and a beautiful sunny morning.

We had various drivers who took us around. It was a massive help and I highly recommend doing this!

We are now on our way to Konya, where we will spend the night in a family homestay.

Sending lots of love while writing on the road on a beautiful sunny morning. The weather keeps warming up as we get closer to the Mediterranean Sea.
